Occasional BSOD: cannot read dump file due to permissions

    Folks,

I get an occasional BSOD. Windows creates a debugging dump file on my C drive (C:/Windows/Memory.dmp).

That file is large, 2,870,928 KB. I guess it's time to read it.

I have NO PERMISSIONS for that file. I cannot import it into the Windows Debugger (WinDbg:10.0.22621.1). In fact, I cannot do anything with the Memory.dmp file at all.

I am the only user on this machine and have full administrator rights for the one profile I use.

    My windows is version: 10.0.19044

How do I regain permissions for this one file? (I seem to have full permissions for everything else.)

    Thanks!

Ahh...I see this has been moved to a BSOD/Debug forum.

As part of that, there's an instruction to attach a debug log, from here: BSOD - Posting Instructions

    So...I'm attaching the file.

    Thanks!

Thanks for that advice. Currently running AMD v22.2.3. I see there's a v22.5.1 available. I'll load that...

What is it that led you to the conclusion that it's the video driver causing the issues?

    Regards,

Memory dumps. The bugcheck you had was directly related to your graphics driver
