I suggest you make Windows 10 Installation USBs instead. Forget System repair disks.
InstallUSBs can do everything that the System repair disk can do and more.
And, being USBs, you can update them when the next Windows Version when it is released [23H2 this Autumn, I expect].
1 Download the ISO - use one of the sources identified in Download Windows 10 ISO File -TenForumsTutorials [one of them, the MS MCT tool, achieves both steps 1 & 2]
2 You boot from the InstallUSB to run a clean install [or to carry out specific repairs such as Startup repairs] - Create Bootable Installation USB - TenForumsTutorials
The ISO file itself can be used to run a Repair Install - TenForumsTutorials after booting into Windows normally not from the USB.

I suggest you delete partition X:
To recreate a Recovery partition you can perform an in-place upgrade repair install.
Having one is useful as you can readily boot to Safe Mode, use advanced startup options.
Your PC will, of course, boot normally without one.
As Try3 says - and I indicated at the beginning- a System Repair disk isn't that great a thing to have.

Thanks for your input dalchina and Denis.
I got the impression that it HAD to be CD/DVD disc from the Popup as USB was not an option. I would much prefer the USB route.
I downloaded yesterday the latest MCT file which is now on a USB stick. Now I do get confused with ISO, Mounting and Unmounting ISO and MCT.......
So, do I need to now use the MCT USB to make a bootable USB? or is the MCT the same as an ISO?
I will have a read of the Create Bootable Installation USB Tutorial. Probably not enough time to sort this before we go away tomorrow, but with your help I am making slow progress

The MCT is just a tool for downloading the ISO and making the InstallUSB.
It is otherwise useless.
When you have downloaded the ISO then you can do this:
1 Format an 8/16/32GB USB stick as Fat32. Open a File explorer window and select the USB.
2 In a second File explorer window, double-click on the ISO file. This mounts it. It shows you its contents [as if they were the contents of a CD/DVD]. Select them all and drag them onto the USB.
3 You have now made an InstallUSB.
4 Unmount the ISO by right-clicking on its virtual CD/DVD drive & selecting Eject.
As I said before, one of the options in the tutorial downloads the ISO and makes the InstallUSB for you [then deletes the ISO file].
I just download the ISO for each Windows 10 Version.
I also keep other things on my InstallUSB.
- Letting the MCT create the InstallUSB for you would not allow you to do that because it reformats the USB.
- When I update the InstallUSB to the next Windows Version, I just repeat my steps 2, 3, 4. No reformatting is involved and my other files on my InstallUSB are safe.

Just run the MCT and create a bootable USB drive directly. ([I]Alternatively to start an upgrade./I]
No need to worry about iso files.
You can use either the bootable USB drive or an iso file to perform an in-place upgrade repair install. You just start that differently depending on which you are using. But of course, whatever you use must be the same major build and base language etc.

Sorry for being so cautious, having made assumptions and guesses in the past and bricking my PC I now make sure of what I am doing in the hope nothing goes wrong.....
I have attached a copy of the contents of my USB which I hope/pray is what I need to do an in-place repair.

It looks right. It's the same as mine.
Personally, I'd change the label of the drive from ESD-USB to InstallUSBv22H2 or anything else that will avoid ambiguity after 23H2 comes out.

I have followed the Tutorial and have a USB with MCT 22H2 download, when plugged in to my PC that offers to upgrade this PC or for use on another PC. Is that what you mean by ‘ InstallationUSB’? As in Post #17 above. (Now named Win10 22H2)

Does this mean that WinPE (As on my MR Rescue disk ) does not recover Windows if it cannot boot? Sorry, getting confused here as I thought that was the whole idea of a Rescue Disk. I am not trying to being to be difficult, just trying to understand things.
I now have a MR RESCUE disk (PE)and the MCT 22H2 install ? USB so wonder, do I need a Windows Repair disk (RE) as well?
Do you need a new ‘installation USB’ whenever MS updates it’s operational software? I guess you would, or should you need to reinstall would you just use the latest one you have then update that OS online once reinstalled?

I realise I am going off subject a bit here so can easily start a new thread but hope you will appreciate this is maybe part of the problems I am having: I have tried entering different schedules but always seem to end up with a conflict. Like the screenshot below. I got back Friday and noted that both full backups failed due to a ‘conflict’ so I set the OS backup to Run Now. That started at 13:40 and finished at 22:06 and was Successful.
I am using MR to backup my system and some of my data files. I obviously have something wrong with my schedules. (I assume you should not have two backups schedules running at the same time).
So, if I have a full backup running once a month on the first Monday of the month at 09.00. Then a Differential at 09.00 Every Tuesday at 10.00, and an incremental at 11.00 every day. If my PC is off then what happens when it is turned on later in the week? Say off Monday to Friday and I switch in on on Saturday? Would that cause a ‘Conflict’ or would MR adjust the backups/time to avoid conflicts?
Re that X:\ partition, I have merged this with my C:\ partition using Partition Magic but it comes back, it shows as empty. It may be needed by MR or Windows, but I have no idea. I was advised on another thread that it could be removed/merged as it was not needed but it still re-appeared.
Apologies for asking for so much of your time to help sort problems that are probably of my own making.
