My issue has resolved too. Maybe it was because I increased the size of the recovery partition or maybe because of running DISM, SFC and chkdsk /r several times. Some errors were fixed.
LM2007. At the moment it hasn't occurred to me again and this is why I wrote in the previous comment that for me, ironically, it is a mystery of Science and Technology.
About the latest version of KB5001716
MS routinely re-issues KB5001716 using the same KB number every time.
The current one is dated 5th March 2024 according to my WUMgr.
You don't really need to bother reading KB5001716: Update for Windows Update Service components - MSSupport but do note that the article lists 28 Feb 2024 dates for the update's contents so it is not the same as last October's version [and the download's contents date matches].
For x64 Windows 10 Version 22H2***, the direct download link is
https://download.windowsupdate.com/c...8840bcfff1.cab
You'll get one of those This is not a secure site warnings.
The filename contains its hash [the d92aa5a45222707542efa229d9cb0a8840bcfff1 bit] as normal if you want to check it after downloading it.
The download is a cab file containing an msi file.
According to sandyt post #30 & BleepingComputer, the older version of KB5001716 needs to be uninstalled before the new one is installed.
This seems very odd.
I'm often lazy about making new system images before Patch Tuesday. I think I'll make a new one now given the strange comments about it here & in other TenForums threads.
*** Judging by that MSSupport article, I think that it is the same download for Versions 2004, 20H2, 21H1, 21H2 and 22H2. You could check using WUMgr to get a direct download link as I did for mine.
All the best,
Denis
