Not sure which update specifically is the issue. It just states that an error has been encountered and there were some problems installing updates. (0x80070643)
    Just noticed that.

    1. Look at your Update History, Post a screenshot.

    2. Given your build number is the same as mine, that suggests the error is with the latest preview update.
(See the article in the News section).

    Security Update KB5034441 successfully installed?
For a standard UEFI system run:
    Code:
    Dism /Get-ImageInfo /ImageFile:\\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition4\Recovery\WindowsRE\winre.wim /index:1
    In a MBR-System replace partition 4 by partition 3
    Is the Service Pack-Build: 3920 ?
Diskmanagement: What is the size of your Recovery Partition?

    dalchina: Thanks for the advice.

I use WizTree - although not usually with the 'cushion map'. Found this very usful in the past. However, it only shows me how much room this folder is taking up - about 3GB.

Most of my data is on a larger HDD. I even have a symlink for the 'WindowsUpdateFolder' to the HDD, as this was using a lot of drive space (currently 218GB). Most of my programs are stored in a 'Program Files (D)' folder on the D-drive as well.

My desktop is 'reletively' old and came with a 120GB SSD and a 3TB HDD. I have very little on the SSD that is not required there as the boot drive. 39GB in the Programs and Program Data, most of which are put there by Windows itself or having no alternative. The Windows folder, itself, takes up 47GB. Others are ESD 4GB and the Pagefile and $MFT take up a total of 3.5GB. There's not much I can move without significantly slowing down the system. (All these figures are from WizTree.) Yes, I could technically upgrade to a larger SSD, but I have very little money to play with.

Pentagon: The folder in question is currently 2.4GB

The folder you mention (according to WT) has around 34,000 items in, but is only at around 0.7GB. Don't know what the next line you wrote is supposed to be, sorry.

Ghot: Thanks. Will try that - next time.

Be more precise as it's risky to guess what to do.
2,4 GB is the contents of $WinRE ?
The content can be deleted by a tool like explorer++ if you run it as admin.
34.000 items are where? I guess what you mean. Can be deleted attention: be patient, because it takes a long time!
The content of ESD can be deleted. It's from the first installation.
Do you know how to run a Command Prompt (cmd as admin?
All commands I mentioned are to be executed in cmd
    C:\WINDOWS\system32>dir c:\*.etl /w/o/s/p

A screenshot of your Diskmanagement is needed

Again- screenshot of Update History please..

However, it only shows me how much room this folder is taking up - about 3GB.
Wiztree- hovering over the cushion map yields details of each item:
    Unable to Delete $WinREAgent Folder-untitled.png

and you can rt click and get a full context menu.

The Windows folder, itself, takes up 47GB.
    - seems very large.
On this 7 year old installation mine is 29GB

Some 256GB SSDs seem to be around £20, 500GB SSDs (depending on what you need exactly) seem to be around £33... just on a very quick look. Obviously you'd need to consider what you really need.

It doesn't look like KB5034441 successfully installed.

    ServicePack Build is "1"

    Looks like partition is 980MB

That's what I expected. That KB5034441 failed. Screenshot of Diskmanagement please.
What do you get when running the command (cmd) admin
    reagentc /info
and run the above Dism command

2.4GB is the total size of $WinRE (2.1GB allocated) by WinTree.

the 34,000 items are in the "C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local" folder.

Can you confirm 'ESD' can be deleted. The last time it was changed was in 2020. I've had the computer a lot longer than that.

I can run commands in Admin, but I would like to know better what this command actually does before executing it. For security, etc.
