    Success!
I had tried and failed five or more times to install that update using different 'recipes'. I was going to just delete the recovery partition to be done with it, but when I checked my update history it showed that KB5034441 had actually installed OK several days ago without me noticing.

No idea why this time was different unless MS fixed whatever was wrong with that update.

Could be, I have one that still has the issue but the Recovery partition is over 1GB in size so maybe later?

    Dropbox - KB5034441-debug - Simplify your life

One post I saw suggested that KB5034441 sometimes has issues if the partition is larger than ~900MB, so I made mine 800MB in the last attempt.
