Run HDSentinel is usually without any problems.

See if it can be downloaded and installed while in safe mode with networking and / or clean boot.

The HDS website has problems with downloads. I was able to download it from MajorGeeks. It installed and ran fine.

    Event[1762]:
    Log Name: System

    Event ID: 12
    Task: N/A
    Level: Error
    Opcode: Info
    Keyword: N/A
    User: N/A
    User Name: N/A
    Computer: DESKTOP-E52D4Q4
    Description:
The platform firmware has corrupted memory across the previous system power transition. Please check for updated firmware for your system.
There are a few reports of the above error being caused by older BIOS which may write/corrupt the lower 1MB of RAM . The reports say this does not cause problems for W7 or newer since the OS does not use that low memory. Windows records these error events, but it causes no harm.

If the computer is running without problems then that will complete the troubleshooting.

Run chkdsk /b /v in one month to check for any recurrent problems.

After making another disk image, I successfully used Gparted to expand the recovery partition but the KB5034441 still fails to install and produces the same error code. Then I found this discussion:

This PC uses a processor from the Intel 805xx product code with no TPM support in BIOS. Without enabled TPM the original update and even many manual fixes will also fail. On these machines at least, it isn't solely due to partition size. No need to pursue this further until there is a recognized fix for these older PCs.
