    Wonky pc update settings

Trying to clean friends PC from god knows what he did adding reg files.

    Win 10 version is 21H1 19044. 2130
Stuff added that could possibly conflict with updates. How do i clean up the WUpdates page? What entry is safe to delete from registry?

Hi, you mention reg files, but are using the group policy editor.

Whilst you can reset all group policy settings thus:
Reset Local Group Policy Editor Settings to Default in Windows 10

    note the caveat:
This will only apply to reset Group Policy objects set in the Local Group Policy Editor, and not objects set manually in Registry Editor instead.
Should you find you need to check the registry key or reset it, searching the tutorials here should provide most of the information you need. For example see:
Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10
    Option 3
    and its various options.

The tutorial covers various aspects of disabling and controlling Windows update giving both the group policy and the equivalent registry keys (reg files).

Yes, while stuff is showing as set with group policy, google shows settings there that are missing on newer (or this) windows version
Tried googling those policies and what to change, but had no luck.
I compared with some pictures and some reg entries are added.

Dont really want to reset all policies just for this Wupdate entries. And checking Wupdate policies, only one enabled is "configure automatic updates" to get a notification before downloading.

N.B. I added specific information so you can deal with those while you were typing.

    See amended post above.

I will assume you know how to filter and find group policies.

    Make use of the tutorials.

And thank you for your reply.
