About 2 weeks ago I installed windows 10 pro 21H1 and have had a few updates since, today I cant check for updates I get an Error was encountered (0x8007042c).. and it seems its telling me to start windows firewall services..I've had Avast Premier Pro installed for 2 weeks now which as you know takes over the windows firewall. Why is this happening? I'm not using and wont use windows firewall and since when am I gonna be forced to use it in order to receive windows updates?
Error code 0x8007042c means "ERROR_SERVICE_DEPENDENCY_FAIL - The dependency service or group failed to start".
It would have to be checked which services cannot be started, on which Windows Update depends.
