KMS for Microsoft Office
What is that? I have a licensed version of office 2010.

I likely even have a receipt for it buried in past tax folders. I am very confused.

I don't know what KMS is??? Truly. Never did anything with pirated software. Everything I have is paid for.
Where would I look to find this?

Thanks. Right now concerned about what, where and how KMS. Trying to learn about that as something does not add up.
Did mention in first post SFC and DISM were clean. Doubt this was caused by BIOS but will allow the possibility. As to the others, I prefer to learn what things are and do before running them.
Not a guru or sysadmin, but windows since before 3.1 and computing since 1986. This first BSOD on this 3 year old system (more? ) prompted me to post and the fact I am not trusting of Microsoft Updates in recent years as they seem to break more than they fix got me to the BSOD in the first place.
I will see what happens when the update is offered again tomorrow. If BSOD's repeat, then will test and check further. My gut from what I saw in logs is that the notification in the Action Center could not find the actually update it mentioned. Not sure why, or if that is correct. Will see more tomorrow.

And I did delete the logs on dropbox. I stil have the CrashDump folder with mem dump. Would that be helpful if I put that back up with a new link?

I just emailed the vendor where I bought Office in 2017. They are a Microsoft Gold Partner. Will see what they have to say.

There are routine tuneup steps in the BSOD troubleshooting.
They rule out problems quickly so that unexpected problems don't occur later during the troubleshooting.
Causes of BSOD can include: drivers, hardware, BIOS, etc.
scannow > checks and fixes OS
restorehealth > checks and fixes the component store
chkdsk /scan > quickly makes superficial check of the drive file system
wmic commands modify and check startup and recovery system failure settings > optimize dump file creation
badmemory > quickly checks to see if windows had predicted RAM failure
The BIOS is outdated > upgrade the BIOS
The logs displayed possible drive problems > check all drives
The BSOD bugcheck was 3B.
This often requires windows driver verifier.

Just to answer this one point, an automatic restart after a BSOD is optional. The setting is in Control Panel > System > Advanced system settings > Start-up and recovery.
With automatic restart turned off then the correct way to restart is to shut down with the power button as you did. When the data collection reaches 100% there is no further system activity so it is perfectly safe to power down. The errors and warnings in the Event log were from the BSOD, nothing to do with the way you restarted.

As mentioned, first BSOD in Windows 10. So learning my way around it.
And BTW Z, the "disk errors" were all on external USB 3" drives and caused by them sleeping and waking up. No issues on "C:" All drives pass CHKDSK. I usually will not install new software to test things unless it is portable. And I have a number of other utilities.
I sincerely appreciate your efforts, but I think we take a different approach to problem solving. Not sure its going in a way I will be happy as I have been , shall we say "shocked" to be accused of pirated software which the vendor assures it is not and then, even if a drive issue that would not be the cause of THIS BSOD.
So I shall see if I continue.
If anyone has insight into this BSOD triggered bu clicking a notification and in win32kbase.sy it would be appreciated. I have not yet tried that exact sequence again as have not been presented with new updates in a notification just yet. I will be and will report if the BSOD continues or was a fluke.

Z, apologies. There IS an issue with Office. What I have found, and never would have, is that my Microsoft Office Home and Business IS totally licensed and activated. However there is a trial version also showing, likely which came with the computer, which is NOT installed (no Access, One Note, Publisher to be found) but is showing the trial version has expired.
I am unsure what to do. What I use works and is licensed. The other does not seem to exist. I do not want to risk losing my licensed working installation.
So it seems we were both right.

And here is how this happened:
You can usually remove the 30-day trial version of Microsoft Office 2010 using the Windows Uninstall utility. But if you installed the registered paid version of Office 2010 for home or business, you might find that the installation included a trial version of Office 2010 Professional. You won't be able to remove the trial version through Uninstall without also removing the registered version. However, you can use options from within the registered version Microsoft Word to remove the trial version of Office...
Since it has some risk, is no longer supported for support and is not hurting anything. I will leave it as it is.

OK, as I suspected, I was offered Updates today in notifications. Clicked to view, postponed 7 days, closed. No BSOD. All just fine. So for some reason, yesterday was a fluke.
So I learned a few things. Thanks. And hopefully you learned that KMS could be a Microsoft glitch rather than nefarious. Further searching brought up that even if the Pro trial version has been uninstalled (as I had done) future Office updates can show the trial license again in activations as in the capture. Odd. Who knew.

Do you prefer to update 1909 to the most recent build or upgrade to 2004?
It can be easy to miss BSOD when automatically restart is checked.
The wmic commands in post #12 optimize the settings to create dump files for Windows 10.

My computer evidently ran some of your logger utilities last night creating a number of logs for sleep, etc. I do not see it in task manager. Did not think this was installing software.
Please tell me how to totally remove this from my system.

Seems to have generated a .cab in temp that was deleted": a"computername" "date" diag.cab plus several other files like licensing-diag-log-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.txt and WindowsPolicyData.xml and sleepstudy-report.xml.
If not your tool, can you tell me what this is?

I ran it manually a few days ago - when I posted above. I deleted the results folder after I posted.
This morning three files appeared in temp that were no there yesterday. I check each morning. They are dated 7/19, but did not appear until 7/22. SO it is either from your utility running or something else from Microsoft. Have not seen these ever before. Thought maybe a task was set, but cannot find one.
