activation invalid after deletion of product key

    For
    Code:
    ProductName : Windows 10 Pro
    ProcessorArchitecture : x64
    EditionId : Professional
    BuildLab : 17763.rs5_release.180914-1434
ActiveSkuDescription : Windows(R) Operating System, RETAIL channel
    the product ID was deleted.
The operating system was Windows 7 or 8 factory installed (upgrade/ downgrade rights) and was upgraded to windows 10 during the free upgrade period.

The computer should have licensing information on Microsoft servers.
    There is a Microsoft account.

The activation diagnostic tool after deletion of the product ID displayed invalid license.
    Validation code: 0xC004F014
The Software Licensing Service reported that the product key is not available.

The V2 log collector, last ran on 9/21 displayed ActivePartialProductKey : 3V66T
It also displayed data for these rows:

    System currently displays:
    Windows is not activated.
    Product ID: Not available

The computer needs to be troubleshooted for Windows upgrade failure.

None of these commands worked after the run of the upk command.
    Code:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17763.805]
    (c) 2018 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>slmgr.vbs /upk

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>slmgr /ipk

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>slmgr /ato

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>slmgr.vbs /ato

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>slmgr /dlv

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>slmgr /dli

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>slmgr /xpr

Shouldn't a clean install if required be able to be performed having upgraded to Windows 10 (factory installed upgrade)?

Would reset save files and custom install be other options in case troubleshooting steps fail?

What significance if any is the loss of the product key followed by invalid license?

What fixes are available contacting Microsoft global support?

After a manual deletion does a system restore typically restore the product ID ?

Was able to fix (no replies) so will delete the post.
Delete option not seen so will mark as solved

The product key determines the edition to be installed - Windows cannot determine the licence when there is none

You have to specify a key (leaving the key blank has no effect)

    eg: slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

When online the activation server will match the Installation ID (containing the pid (which is derived from the key), hardware id etc) with the digital licence.

Superfly, do you think any one of several key find utilities can help the OP? I'm not sure which one to suggest.

I don't know of any key find utilities..

On a clean install the upgrade key gets wiped - what I gather here is the installed key got deleted.

Thus installation of the generic key (Win 10 Pro in this instance) would get the digital licence back
