    Yes, I extended the system reserved partition to 2 GB, and this did not make any difference. I used the same links to dig out this 'fix' that you suggested. I really had hope that this would be the fix as the partition was 450MB beforehand.

    Thanks,2G is way more than you'd need, of course.

    Then there were these:
    Method 4. Fix VPN connection problem to solve Windows 10 update error code

    Disconnect network > Turn off VPN software > Run Microsoft Windows 10 Update > Restart PC > Reconnect network and turn VPN back on.

    Method 5. Fix .NET framework with Windows 10 update failure issue

    1. Press Windows + X and select control panel > Click cursor in the search field and search: windows features;
    2. Select: turn Windows features on or off link, select the check box to the box next to .Net framework;
    3. Click OK and proceed with Windows 10 update again.

    So if you are facing Windows 10 update failure problem with error code 0x800F0922, or if you fail to install Windows 10 update KB 3163018 with 0x800F0922 error code, follow below provided solutions and you'll find relative solution for your present Windows 10 update error issues now.
    Others have suggested downloading the update manually (link in the thread for the update in the News section - I've quoted this above).

    Note the latest 1809 iso now includes this, I understand.

    Please find the cbs log and rename it to old.

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log > cbs.log.old

    Then perform a windows update to generate a new error message and code.

    Find the cbs log then zip and post a share link into the thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive

    There is a log collector used in another forum.
    Run the BETA log collector and post a zip into this thread

    Part of the logs collected were not able to be opened.

    Please run both the DM and BETA log collectors and post new zips into the thread:
    BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums

    In the left lower corner search type: msinfo32 > allow approximately 30 minutes for it to fully open > save as NFO > post a share link into the thread

    Sorry for the delay, but I've been busy.

    I have SOLVED this - and this may not be the fix for everyone, but it fixed 600 machines I own.

    The App Readiness Service was disabled, once it was set to Automatic again BANG - all machines took the updates.
