Unable to Disable Windows 10 Update.

I am Unable to Disable my Windows Update as the Services>Windows Update Tab is Freezed and I am unable to click anything to Disable it. Here's a screenshot please take a look.

Note : I have updated my Windows 10 to the latest update and my Laptop didn't work properly so, I was unable to Uninstall the Update. Therefore, I recovered my Previous Verison of Windows 10 and I see this.Unable to Disable Windows 10 Update.-windows-report-issue.jpg

Hi, first, to stop Windows update, please see:
Stop Windows 10 Updates Properly and Completely Solved - Windows 10 Forums

Second, if your problem is actually a particular update, you can instead hide (block) that particular update. (Tutorial available).

Third, regarding your problem ,note the discussion here:
windows services greyed out - Windows 10 Forums

It's possible in later builds (mine as you can see is still 1709 by choice) that MS has made sure users can't try to disable Windows update in this way. (They have progressively made that harder to do).

Hopefully those with later builds will comment.
Which Windows build are you using? Windows key + R, winver

Otherwise you could try the Window Update troubleshooter. (Settings, search for 'trouble', click Troubleshooting, scroll down).

If that doesn't work, try Tweaking.com's free repair tool (easy to find) and use only the appropriate repair(s).

    - the repair tool offers reinstatement of default services and other such repairs from a numbered list. It is very cautious in its approach.

If you've tried Tweaking.com's tool and the registry keys mentioned and no joy, then bite the bullet and do an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all programs, data and most settings.

You will need a 1709 iso or bootable disk, of course, freely available.
If you've been using registry hacks or 3rd party tools to disable Windows update, that could be related.

I have used the above method to disable auto-updates without disabling the "Windows Update" service.
