KB4345421 July general update for 1803 fails

I have tried five times to run the July update KB4345421 which seems to stall at 25% installation then brings back an error code 0x80070002. Previous culmulative updates have worked ok. This is for Windows 10/1803. Other updates seem to install ok. Any ideas appreciated.

Many thanks for your suggestion. After thinking about it, I downloaded the file directly from the microsoft update catalogue online and used the windows update stand alone installer. That worked.

Hi, I would chime in, although I'm slightly off topic, just to say that this latest July update has screwed up my Windows Store, I mean that I cannot update or install apps from store with the same error 0x80070002. But in my case the update went successfully, no problem with Windows update, just the Store. I tried everything, and I mean literally everything - at least a dozen of solutions, everything I could find on the web (including general windows update fix/clean, store clean/reset, and much more). With this update the store is simply broken. The only thing that I didn't do is an in place upgrade, and probably it would have worked, but I do not want to follow that annoying route. I'll just wait for the next major update, if the next cumulative ones will not fix the issue. Just to say.

My manual update went OK and I can still access my Apps and Windows Store OK. But I am on a desktop so dont really use the apps. However, Windows update has still logged the update as pending download, hopefully that nudge will go away or it will try and reinstall and screw it up again. Dont seem to get these problems with Apple.

Although it installed ok using the manual download, I see from windows update it still has it as a pending download.
Will it understand it is already installed or will it try again and totally mess it up?
