    For the record

If you will refer back to my original post, this was always stated as a problem with an insider build. The screen capture included with the post showed what the Windows version was at the time, which was 19013.1122. After several attempts to fix this, I apparently reverted back to 19013.

The problem continued, so last night I went ahead and chose the "Reset Your Computer" option. This preserved my data, but of course I now have to reinstall all of the programs that had been added.

I consider this issue closed now, but certainly not resolved, as I will now try to get myself un-enrolled in any further insider builds. It's not worth the hassle of losing productivity to preview any new builds.

    Thank you.

Glad to read about the results.

    You are welcome.

Please make a free backup image:
(Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Macrium, Paragon, etc.)

With a backup image you can restore the image without having to reinstall drivers and applications.

Backup images are useful in case there are any of these:

    malware
    ransomware
    corruption of the registry
    corruption of the operating system
    failure to boot
    drive failure
    etc.

Macrium is widely used in Ten Forums:

Macrium Software | Your Image is Everything
Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect

Once you have backup images you can test drive anything and then restore the image.

Save the backup image to another disk drive or the cloud.

    Roger that

I definitely use Macrium for backups and images, so I will make sure to reimage as soon as I have everything the way I want it.

    Nice.
If there are no BSOD or unexpected shutdowns or restarts for 3 - 4 days you can mark the thread solved.
