@Leo - how'd you get the all app list to the left of the start menu - I click on Start I get the pinned tiles - then if I click on all aps in the upper left I get the menu all across the screen
Agreed! Very quiet here when no new builds are released. Once something new pop out, this site gets really active.
I joined this forum just because I wanted a place to share Insider experiences and learn something new that I would not have otherwise thought of.
Thanks (W)Insider-team and thanks Ten Forums -team! :)
Interesting numbers.
Here are the numbers from my ancient Asus U46SV:
Code:<WinSPR> <SystemScore>6.9</SystemScore> <MemoryScore>8.6</MemoryScore> <CpuScore>8.6</CpuScore> <CPUSubAggScore>7.3</CPUSubAggScore> <VideoEncodeScore>9.9</VideoEncodeScore> <GraphicsScore>6.9</GraphicsScore> <Dx9SubScore>9.9</Dx9SubScore> <Dx10SubScore>9.9</Dx10SubScore> <GamingScore>9.9</GamingScore> <DiskScore>8.15</DiskScore> <LimitsApplied> <GamingScore> <LimitApplied Friendly="We no longer run the D3D test. Returned scores and metrics are hardcoded sentinel values.">NoD3DTestRun</LimitApplied> </GamingScore> </LimitsApplied> </WinSPR>
So I have a weird question - since I don't have a lot of experience running insider builds on my main system. We can all agree that 16299 is very close to RTM. I just bought new PC parts and I'd rather fresh install the newest version of Windows. Can install 16299 now, and upgrade to the RTM build when that's out and then withdraw from the insider thing on my main PC? Or would you recommend waiting outright for RTM (super difficult with new Threadripper hardware taunting me to use it)? I have to assume RTM will be around in the coming week anyway if my memory serves me right from past experience.
I think that's a bug, I've tried to reproduce what you say by changing various settings from the Start menu and I could not, when I click on all apps, in the upper left, they appear only on the left side, not on the whole screen.
Maybe you already knew this but if you want to always see that list of all apps you can go to Settings, Personalisation, Start:
Edit: I realize now that maybe you have the option to "Use Start full screen" enabled and in that case is not a bug, is normal.
It wasn't about showing my numbers, it was just showing 24c where to look for a quick overview after testing.
Those are not even my best scores, as they were run whíle my CPU was "only" OC'd to 4.5GHz(my daily profile) instead of my benchmarking profile of 4.9GHz, and my GTX1080 was also not OC'd for the run.
@Mr. C. Simonds, Esq., you know I like you, you know you are one of the Good Geeks I follow.
That being said, I have tried but I simply cannot understand your chosen colors! What diabolical reason can make a geek to use red on black color combination as your screenshots reveal?
Remember that I will be there for you in case you want to discuss about reasons behind this utterly weird behaviour. Speaking from personal experience, I can tell you that regular consumption of whisky can cure the DCS (Disturbing Color Syndrome). May I suggest a shot or thirteen and restoring some not so weird color scheme?
