Found some kind of a fix. I'll post them here in case someone needs help. I still can't update via ISO for now, but I'm not forced to restart anymore.

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
    Sfc /Scannow
    And restart
This worked. Re-downloaded the update and it installed it ok.

True. If he's clicking Run. It looks to me like he's trying to save it, then he wants to run it. Assuming of course.

If he did run it will usually install in a folder on the C: drive, but it looks as though he didn't get that far either.

    We shall see tomorrow.
Tx for all the responses on my problem. Yes I did all the right things, tried this morning still nothing. Hippsie's question on what browser I was using (FF 54.0.1) got me to thinking, am I using the right tut link... yes...next was to try EDGE and just like it is supposed to do, it downloaded and shows in my download folder What the heck is going on that did not allow FF (on 2 W10 machines and 1 W7 machine) to be able to do that? Test d/l files worked on ff, as expected. WAG, might be a filter or something in FF that blocks .bin files? don't think that is likely. TX again, now on to the iso creation.

Maybe the file got saved in Last "Save As..." download location. Check FF download history.

I was having so much trouble with my Internet connection that, in desperation, I tried Chrome! Heresy! But it's working so well that I may keep testing it for awhile.

I have Firefox set to ask where I want to save the file.

Also, you can search for the file if you know even part of the name.

I love Chrome! I have it on my main machine, but on my IP machine I try to stick with Edge...

Yup, I was testing Edge, and I guess I need to go back to testing it, since my Internet seems to be OK for the moment.

Looks like my boot-up and then the sign-in screen is not matching the lock screen pic I have chosen and set in the Settings app. Never had this problem before. Anyone else have it?
