I think I am reading this different to others, this to me is sounding like the restrictions placed on downloading media, Movies/TV Shows, you can download 5 times for these then that's it, you want a local copy after 5 download then buy again
But, that is about to change when Windows 10 launches next week and will reduce the amount of times you can install an app with the same account by a significant margin.you can install the app 10 times, not just have it on 10 devices at the same timeIf you take a look at the apps for Windows 10, you will see that they are now being limited to 10 installs under the same Microsoft account; a significant drop compared to the previously allowed 81 devices.
so if you do a few clean installs of the OS or re install the store apps, once this number gets to 10, expect to purchase the app again
might just be wording of the article, but that's how I read this
Hi there
Many ways to overcome that problem -- however what I think you need to know or ask --if you have TWO computers with the same Ms account does the 10 apply to EACH machine or is it applied to the Ms account.
As I probably won't get ANY apps from the store it won't really bother me anyway.
Where it could get messy is if you mess around with VM's.

The way I read it is 1 app = 10 devices and not 1 device = 10 apps. If you want to run the app on 11+ devices you will have to have another MSA for every 10 devices.
Hi there
If it's 10 devices then simply create a VM - install the app again and then restore the VM image back to your physical machine --known as a V2P Virtual to Physical conversion. Software such as Acronis which has universal restore features means you can restore to dis-similar hardware so restoring a VM will work --I did it the other day to clone an activated 10240 build from a Laptop on to a totally different computer (desktop).
To create a VM of your physical machine (the easy part) simply use VMware's FREE converter to create the Guest OS image.
Download VMware vCenter Converter Standalone for P2V Conversion

I hope so too, if its installs it sounds a bad deal to me, in the new app store is there anyway to see what devices an app is installed on, so if its 10 devices you can remove one to free it for another
Trying to find more articles on this to clarify if it means 10 devices or 10 installs
Hi there
I'm sure there is some way they can tell if the app is installed on a different device -- SKY GO for example recognizes the fact when you open the app on a different computer --in fact SKY GO is actually hosed up in that if you say totally re-install Windows on the SAME computer and then launch SKY GO it thinks it's a NEW device !!!!.
If you can actually get hold of the MSI / EXE install file then it won't matter unless the app has to be activated - then presumably the number of activations will be held on the servers.
