Same here. Maybe they want to put an end to a rumour that MS Edge is good just to download FF or Chrome...:)
ain't no rumor......

Yes. Have to switch to IE to download.
I guess Edge isn't ready for prime time yet, fjk. Since I download quite a bit, I guess I won't try it this time around. Besides, I don't like those *s all that much. :)

Yeppers, Andre, the only reason I ever use Edge is to download Firefox. And not all that often, since I only clean install when I have a real problem with a new Build. Or, if I want to jump off the deep end and test Windows from a clean install.

Not having much joy with this. 15002 keeps screwing with something. I have a spinning blue circle of "no use" every time I go near the taskbar. no start menu, no cortana the clock eventually stops.
I have very little 3rd party stuff installed, I'm running windows defender (I have a norton subscription but I made a clean 14965 build/image without norton) upgraded that to 14986, and then updated to 15002.
If its not to do with my AV then whats screwing it up ? I can do the upgrade from 14986 and it works fine for a couple of boots and then goes meh on me. The various Powershell/CMD clean up scripts are of no use.
Any Ideas?
Hi,
Back on post #50 I ran into same thing. Various tries to fix it were to no avail. I finally just did a clean install to 14986 and desktop and task bar worked. I went a head to 15002 download and as soon as it was installed same issue. I got to a point of frustration*as no access to start settings anything. I decided one more try at an idea. I am running 2 monitors and one is a 4k tv.
I unplugged it and my screen on main monitor bounced a few times and my access to my task bar and settings was back. Seems there is an issue with dual setup on monitors for me. Even after installing new drivers for GPU the problem came back.
If you are running 2 monitors you might try it and see if you can access again

It was your post that put me on the right track although I didn't see the BSOD it just kept restarting.
At least it was a useful post for someone. :)
Taking forever to download. Did they put a brick in this build lol.
Stuck at 100%
My upgrade continued to download stuff for ~90 minutes after reaching 100%.

Just an FYI... it says "Downloading 100%"....another MS poor choice of messages. If you look at taskmanager when it's in that state, you will see the process TrustedInstaller>TIworker beating it's brains out and most likely one of the svchost services doing a process called DoScv, which stands for Delivery Optimization Service. Lovingly referred to as UUP. The whole process is trying to figure out what parts you need installed and what you don't. This is what I have observed this build, last build. On 7 Insider OS updates.

Thanks. :)
I suspected that was what was happening (based on comments about UUP by TenForum gurus/members).

If you watch the BT folder on ESD enabled machines, you'll notice how WU first makes first one round (downloading 0 to 100%, preparing 0 to 100%) populating BT folder, then starts another round downloading and preparing which wipes most of the BT folder content re-creating it.

Performed a clean install, wouldn't let me setup with a local account!
