Just go into RegEdit(only if you know what you're doing) and go to H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and H_KEY_CURRENT_USER to software and delete the registry keys for spybot then reboot. Then see if it shows up again, in the app.

Also in File Explorer o to the View tab and check off Hidden Items. Then go to C:\Users\YourName\AppData and look in the local and roaming folder and see if there are any leftover folders/.INI files there to delete.
Spybot S&D should be compatible with windows 10, a new version might not be. I still use 1.6.2.0 with definition updates. I keep it because I don't like Spybot S&D 2, it doesn't included file shredder options to my knowledge. Also some feature that were free are not free.
Thanks guys for the above posts. After I noticed that Spybot in the "Get Windows 10" screen was listed as an App that supposedly would not run I ran Ccleaner. (Spybot had already been replaced on my PC a couple of weeks ago with Malwarebytes).
I then did a reboot and checked again and no problem Apps appeared in the "Get Windows 10"
So either the Ccleaner or the reboot or both fixed the issue.
Good to hear. It's usually those sloppy uninstallers. It can get really messy when a program hooks deep into the system.
You can also do your Windows 10 readiness test with the icon. It will tell you about application & driver incompatibilites. I ran it and it said that Norton 360 is incompatible with Windows 10 then I got a message from Norton that a WIndows 10 fix is on the way.
