When I tried it I could set it but it didn't work. This was on a earlier build so I don't know if it works now or not.

Did you try using DDU to clean up all GPU drivers and settings first ?

OK, I see what your saying. I thought you meant that setting wasn't there. That's why I booted up my other PC to verify. I've never changed it from the defaults on Windows 10, not that I can remember anyway.

I'm not on my laptop at the moment so can't find it, but I think Gabe Aul tweeted a link to a Microsoft Community thread which had a workaround to stop a particular update from installing itself.

Edit: Here's the one I was thinking of:

The driver in device manager is just a MS basic display adapter. Is this similar to the problem discussed, or is this something different? anyone know? Thanks.
Ummmm, it could be . . . AMD bought ATI quite some time back, so in essence, AMD graphics are ATI graphics. It could be that there is something that keys your card to pick up new drivers when it maybe shouldn't.

The driver probably installed itself again because I did not restart the PC after modifying the update setup as suggested by @alphanumeric .

I uninstalled the WU AMD drivers under device manager. But after rebooting the PC, it immediately re-installed itself again and brought back the colors of the monitor. Then I tried overwriting the WU AMD driver by installing the GPU driver from the disc it came with. It successfully overwritten the WU AMD driver but boom! B&W screen again.

I tried a different approach. I downloaded the AMD 15.5 beta driver which was released in May 2015 and installed it. So far, everything is good. I guess the system is detecting that this is the latest and does not attempt to update it again.

Here's the AMD Catalyst 15.5 beta driver source: http://support.amd.com/en-us/downloa...208.1%20-%2064
I believe that's what I have. For some reason, it didn't mess around with other drivers and installed that one for me when it became available.
