So I guess Hibernate is not working in this build for me. If I Hibernate anything I leave open is lost and it starts up without having saved anything. Anyone else?

Is there a hiberfile.sys on C:\ ?
You might have to
Elevated Cmd: powercfg -h ON
to create it if it's not there.
If that doesn't create it ...
I'm not able to test:
C:\>powercfg -h on
Hibernation failed with the following error: The request is not supported.
The following items are preventing hibernation on this system.
An internal system component has disabled hibernation.
Boot from VHD
Oh my .. there is plenty to test. It takes me a bout a month to go through a small matrix (yep touch everything at least once, then play real world and tweak the hell out it - something always breaks
10.074 took me by surprise, I was a bit upset because I hadn't tested much of 10.061(?8?) and figured MS was just shooting out releases to appease the masses. I was about to give up on the insider thing, but I feel better now knowing that MS really wants us to take a 30 day test drive, not just install it and look at the Start menu
I use Windows 10 as if it were my only OS; there are places and things in its dark recesses that would just be lost on me if I tried to test them. As you well know, most of my abilities are in the hardware arena, although I do quite well with software too. I leave the deep dark recesses to you, though. :)
@Slartybart - it's not just the Start Menu. You forgot the design of the icons!!
Kudos for going at it in such depth. Must admit I use win 10 a bit like Wynona.
Yes, hiberfile is there and ON. It says Resuming Windows, but nothing is saved as I left it. Irritating.
two things for me:
ever since the first update to 10074, I have lost search/Cortana functions, and, each time I shut down then close the lid, when I open the lid, it starts immediately - kinda creepy....
