I honestly believe that from 1990's or early 2000's I was able to insert photos into excel cells.
Because honestly I have some excel documents that actually is arranged in this manor. How is this a new feature again?

Huh - It has always been possible to paste images over cells but never inside cells.

The big difference is if you insert rows, any text associated with the image moves but the image does not.

Look at my post on Windows 11 forum to see the difference
.Pasting in the cell is definitely a new feature.

How is that a real improvement? you just said we are taking up less cell space.

Excel is usually good for, run calculations usually used for taxes, book-keeping, balancing budgets, and organizing lists, and the data could be combine with databases ( Like Access ) to make filing and searching more easier.

    That is new?

Excel is used for so much more than your list.

We do lots of engineering calculations where we need to provide evidence as images to support the underlying calculations to provide an effective audit trail - these calculations could be used ss evidence in a court of law if an incident should arise leading to personal injury/death, commercial loss etc.

This new features makes it so any images added are anchored firmly to supported text - cells can be protected etc.

As a contractor we supply these calcs to a client (with cells locked in read only) so they can check our formulae but cannot alter them etc.

So yeah, the feature is a great improvement and what many have been asking for, for many years.

So basically you want to have the images attached to the calculations ( which has not really changed in excel ) performed and have them locked so somebody could view and test calculations without altering them.

All in one to make things clear for some reason. I am not imagining something like Rhino or Autocad variant extension.

    okay.

That is one use - there are many more if you have the imagination.
