How you manually create a new Recovery partition has been posted numerous times on tenforums- just search.

One should also be created if you were to perform an in-place upgrade repair install.

That's easy. Rightclick on the C-Partition and select "shrink volume" and in the highlighted field type 1024 and click ok.
Next step rightclick on the free unallocated space and select "create volume". Leave everything as it is. Label = Recovery, Drive Letter = R.
Before you transfer it to a "Recovery Partition" you have to check, if you have a WinRE.wim in your C:\Windows\System32\Recovery directory.

Any clue if Microsoft ever plan a fix for KB503444? I got the update to work on my mom's laptop, and I thought that was odd because her OS is on 512gb NVMe SSD & mine is on 2tb NVMe SSD, if that helps.

I've seen a statement that they are working on it as I've commented elsewhere in the multiple threads relating to this issue. Whether that will or can cover all cases - that's another question.

The ones I made a change on had a small 400-500MB partition to the right of the main partition [in Disk Management] so I reduced the size of the largest partition by 1GB and added that amount to the small partition.

Thanks everyone, yes, the creation of a Recovery Partition is explained in detail but seems to be a bit more sophisticated and complex than what Pentagon describes like assigning an id to the partition depending on whether the partition is GPT or MBR, etc. I understand the usefulness of a Recovery Partition, but just focusing on KB5034441, the Bitlocker vulnerability relies on using the unpatched Recovery Partition to hack Bitlocker, so AFAIK if there is no Recovery Partition (as is my case), then my system would not have that vulnerability and there would be no need to apply this patch, so I can simply hide the update from Windows Update.

This is driving me bonkers. I shrunk my C volume and tried to resize the recovery partition. I now have a 544 MB recovery partition, and 500 MB of unallocated space. I cannot get diskpart to use any of that unallocated space for the recovery partition. It simply will not re-size. I also tried Macrorit Partition manager and it doesn't work either.

I don't know why this doesn't work. I followed the instructions from Microsoft explicitly, but I still have this 500 MB of unallocated space that the RE will not use.

Have you tried the shrink and merge functions? Check the second and third listing here:
shrink or merge partitions at DuckDuckGo
I have manipulated partitions outside of Windows, boot a Linux Mint LiveDVD or LiveUSB drive or GPARTED LiveCD and run the GPARTED program to do it.

    KB5034441 Security Update for Windows 10 (21H2 and 22H2) - Jan. 9-disk.jpg

This is my Disk Management screen. As you can see, on disk 0 I have 544 MB unallocated, which used to be my RE partition, and another 500 MB unallocated which I am trying to get the RE to actually use, but it wont.

No matter what I do, I cannot make my RE partition larger than 544 MB.

This may be moot anyway, because I am going to Win 11 as soon as Windows Update offers me the upgrade, but I have a feeling that it won't offer the upgrade until I get this $@#%ing update in.
