    Another thing... Does anyone happen to know of a Group Policy or Registry tweak one can do to remove this garbage "Windows Backup" feature MS has forced upon it's Windows 10 users?

    I'm referring to this right here FYI;
    Windows 10's File Explorer gets a surprise update - Neowin

    As well as to remove the entry in the Start Menu;

    Since the page linked said you can activate this using "vivetool /enable /id:40950986" I tried the opposite: "vivetool /disable /id:40950986". Although the command went through ok, nothing changed and the button is still there (not sure what effect this will have had on my system).

    EDIT: "vivetool /reset /id:40950986" seems to work - afterwards "vivetool /query /id:40950986" gives an error ("No configuration for feature ID 40950986 was found in the Runtime store" so appears to have been removed altogether).

    The explorer button was still there but vanished when I clicked on it and didn't come back after a reboot :)

    EDIT 2: It came back again - it seems closing the onedrive.exe process is what kills it. It would be nice if there is a better way.

    Anyone else's Settings panel super slow to search for settings now? Mines now needing to load a few seconds before something is found.

    You can of course uninstall the update and 'hide' it (Tutorial or free 3rd party program option e.g. WUMT).

    Odd thing: my build number is 19045.3448, corresponding to this update, and I believe I saw it being installed.

    It's shown in Programs and Features, Installed Updates, but NOT in Update History.

    As well as to remove the entry in the Start Menu;

    the "windows backup" app from KB5030211 even gets installed on a Windows 10 LTSC 2021 OS as well as noted by Neowin:

    KB5030211 was almost flawless until Microsoft force installed Windows Backup app on LTSC - Neowin

    Microsoft really needs to check their handywork carefully as this app should really not be there for LTSC users, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    edit - solution here, Special

    run windows powershell and type in the following command:
    Remove-WindowsPackage -Online -PackageName "Microsoft-Windows-UserExperience-Desktop-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.19041.3393"

    Yes it was mentioned here on the 23rd.
    Windows 10 KB5030211 adds a Backup app to LTSC, and users are not happy

    Glad it can be removed, "solution" also removes the Emoji Picker and the “Win + Shift + S” shortcut. So I'm pleased to see both of those are also being expelled from my computer.
