    @Anak

    Thanks for the comments. I have the latest versions of the software. These are all small programs that are pretty well 'mature' and hence, under normal circumstances, wouldn't need active development, so why would the developers regularly 'develop' more, to what purpose?

    On the issue of compatibility mode that makes no sense. Prior to the Windows Update I mention all of these programs were working just fine — so 'compatibility' is/was never an issue. Following your suggestion I did try altering compatibility mode for HotSwap! but it made no difference — the program has just stopped functioning properly since the Microsoft update.

    With respect to the websites my Firefox opens them without issues.

    You're welcome,
    K, maybe it's some of that hidparse.sys nonsense where 3rd party apps can trigger a bsod, but you haven't mentioned that happenin'.

    It's causin' a lot of odd errors, This is a good read: Several Windows 10 versions affected by blue screen issue

    I've had mouse cursor 'jitteriness' , icons movin' about the dsktp and systray, thankfully it's calmed down for now. I read one post that said; If your 5021233 update didn't cause a bsod, then your probably? okay.

    All I can say is wait until Jan.'s early patch tues. to see if that makes things okay. MS knows about it and should have a fix in Jan. '23.

    With respect to your FF; Then I have my security set higher/stronger than yours.

    Problem with HotSwap! Solved

    @Anak

    I managed to the fix the HotSwap! issue by making the following settings in HotSwap!:

    KB5021233 Windows 10 19042.2364, 19043.2364, 19044.2364, 19045.2364-hotswap-amended-settings.png

    On the other issue if found that the System Tray icon cache was something of a mess (not by my doing). So I got a hold of a batch file that sorted out the mess. Hopefully now my Sys. Tray icons will turn up as they are supposed to without further issues — time will tell.
