Don't register using your Microsoft ID and provide a different contact email address. I did and now my login attempts get this:
Do yourself a favor and plug in the same email address tied to your MS account unless you want to spend hours in limbo like I'm doing right now. Sigh: live and learn.

PS: It's always something, right?
[Note added 1 day later] After yelling for help to the WIMVP organization and Ignite Registration Services, they got me taken care of about 3 hours later. Turns out I did err when I provided a different email for my official contact than the email asssociated with the MS Login I used to register. I should've known then, and I definitely know now: don't do this!
