So, I need that first? I didn’t understand that. Duuuh!

    Sorry, I'm bouncing around today.

The .cab file is the same thing you would run if the Update were offered thru WU. Identical. It's listed up top on first page after all the song and dance. Shawn put links there. Shawn has a Tutorial on how to install a .cab. Pretty easy.

I suspect Microsoft is using an IP-whitelisting approach, which likely means people on local ISPs have to wait longer.

I have a local fiber ISP.

I suspect not. I have about ten 2004 machines here on my home network, some are physical machines and others are VMs. They will all appear to MS to have the same outward facing IP address, the one assigned to me by my ISP.

Of those machines only two have seen 20H2 offered in Windows Update, one is Home, the other Pro. None of my other machines have been offered it yet, however many times I check for updates. When 2004 first launched only three machines saw it on day one, though all were offered it eventually. Of those original three only in is in the group now being offered 20H2 - go figure...

Whatever algorithm MS uses to decide when your machine is ready for it, I don't think IP address is one of the factors used.

I tried figuring out how Microsoft did their rollout on v2004 and I got migraine from it. So I'm not going to question it anymore. I waited like 3 months until it became available (which in hindsight I'm actually thankful of considering the issues), but this 20H2 update came to me on day-one, same system. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sorry for a late response to your query. I saw that @steve108 has already done it. I wanted to add that with regard to downloading the ISO for a repair install, it didn't not work in my case since I was already on Build 19042.546 meaning 20H2 (Beta version). The workaround for me is explained in post #42 of this same thread. So the way forward to the upgrade depends on which version you were — in your case 19041.572. You can use UUPDump to get it for your Home Edition. After clicking on the architecture (x64) or (x86) you want, you will be presented with a list of choices for pro, home etc...Just tick the one for Home and untick the others. A better explanation on how the whole thing works with UUPDump can be found here:
Windows Insider - Get Latest Fast Ring ISO image
The size should be around 4GB.
    Thanks IronZorg89

I double checked using winver and i am definitely running the update...why i didn't get...i guess i will never know and there doesn't seem like i will be able to do anything about it...

Wonders never cease with this incompetent mob of children at M$..

So they are staggering this roll out to give everyone a 'smooth experience', what a load of bulls**t.
It is a 80MB update that is all, not 500 MB > or whatever.

Just so you know I have (family) 7 PC's all running same W1064 , not all on and not linked.
Half got the update, the other half did not yesterday or today.?
    Same IP, a gigabyte connection.
So have they pulled it as it does not make sense, I have never had to 'wait' for an update, ever.

And yes I know I can install a Cab file.

I wouldn't rush to install 20H2 - I did that then promptly uninstalled it into the dust bin once I saw it broke Task Manager - Startup tab But you might like the eye-candy it provides.

What's your 20H2 favorite new feature/enhancement? for those interested.
