The Windows Insider team has chosen not to release Insider ISO images until some time after a build gets released to the Slow Ring. There have been a few exceptions, but usually ISO images will be available only after a Slow Ring release. For us Fast Ring Insiders, this might occasionally be a problem. You might want to perform a repair install, or test how the latest build works in a clean install. UUP Dump is a tool to get a Fast Ring ISO only minutes after a new Insider build has been released.

According to its author, known as abbod1406, “UUP Dump is an automated windows command script to process Microsoft Windows 10 UUP (Unified Update Platform) files, allowing to build / convert them into a usable state (ISO / WIM)”.

If you let Windows Update download Insider upgrades, you can use UUPtoISO to make an ISO image, see the UUPtoISO tutorial for how.

In this tutorial I will show how to use UUP Dump to create an Insider Fast Ring ISO, if you cannot make one with UUPtoISO for any reason.

Please notice, the UUP Dump user interface has changed since the video was made. It still shows how UUP Dump works, but I recommend to read the tutorial to see how it is today.

     UUP Dump: Download and Convert

1.) Go to UUP dump. Search for a specific build (#1 in screenshot), or select build from the list shown (#2)

All builds are offered in three different bit architecture versions (x86, x64, arm64). Be sure to select correct bit version.

    2.) Select ISO language:

3.) Select edition. Notice that only Home, Home N, Pro and Pro N editions are available, selecting All editions will contain all four aforementioned editions:

4.) Click Download using aria2 and then convert:

5.) A ZIP archive will be downloaded. Save the file, unblock it by right clicking the ZIP file and selecting Properties, then Unblock:

6.) Extract the contents of the ZIP file by right-clicking it and selecting Extract all. When done, run the aria2_download_windows.cmd batch file:

    Note   Note
For reasons unknown to me, extracting downloaded Aria ZIP archive occasionally shows an error message:

Error message itself is an error, extracting will work without issues. If / when you'll get the above shown error message, simply select Do this for all current items and click Skip. ZIP archive will be extracted normally.

7.) UUP Dump starts and will download the UUP files:

8.) When downloaded, the ISO conversion starts automatically. When done, the ISO has been created:

9.) ISO can be found in the folder where you extracted the ZIP archive.

    That's it, geeks!

Kari, step 7 - add ‘be sure to run as administrator’. Because dummies like myself kept running it as regular command file.

It is not necessary to run the batch file as administrator. It auto elevates, checks if user started it in normal user mode and if yes, automatically starts a new elevated (Run as administrator) process.

I could not get it to run as normal user mode. Maybe just my system.

I've never had an issue with that, all UUP dump scripts I have downloaded have always auto elevated. Tested just now, worked perfectly running from local admin account, no need to run elevated.

I apologize, Kari. I went to another computer and tried again and it started up with normal command. So please forgive me.
