No it is downloading now...my point is that it was not optional and last time I checked for updates was yesterday, but the update was not on the servers yet so i did a new check minutes ago. Normally this is automatic at 21:00 my local time, because of my active hours settings.
It wasn't an optional update for me either. It downloaded as soon as I looked for it. It didn't hide itself away.

Might be semantics here... this is what I got on all RP machines. The word "optional" does not appear, but I had to do something to get it, was not auto.

    Attachment 298684
Interesting...I did not have to do anything except I did press check for updates...it just downloaded the thing on both machines.

I recently saw this blog about KB4577063 (build 19042.541)

Windows 10 Update KB4577063 as Preview for Insider | Born's Tech and Windows World

The update fixes the bug “Element not found” in WSL (see also) and should also fix the Windows Credential Manager problem (see also). Addendum: According to this comment at deskmodder.de SSDs are recognized and optimized as hard drives. And the in-place upgrade without data loss does not work either.

I have no clue where these claims are coming from. i have not had any issues with neither WSL nor SSDs. :)

WSL was broken for everyone in the last build:

    Known issue
Windows Insiders on Build 19042.508 in the Beta and Release Preview Channels who use Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) will be impacted by “Element not found” error when they try to start WSL. With the help of Insiders, we have identified the root cause of the issue and have created a fix which should be included in the next 20H2 servicing release shortly. Insiders who wish to be unblocked immediately can uninstall this build (KB4571756) which is a non-security update. You can view the GitHub issue where we are tracking this here.
Today [September 18, 2020], we are releasing Build 19042.508 (KB4571756) to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel.

I cannot for the life of me figure how I get the "Click to Install", and nobody else gets it at all. Nobody. That is just bizarre. There cannot be 2 different Release Preview builds out there.

Has been running fine for me ever since WSL was first introduced in Windows.
