Yay! Back to the Future!
Based on your feedback, it is now easier for you to discover available Windows 10 feature updates, monthly non-security quality updates, and driver updates.
Beginning with the August 2020 security update for Windows 10, when optional updates are detected by your device, they will be displayed on a new page under Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View optional updates. That means you no longer need to utilize Device Manager to search for updated drivers for specific devices.
How to view optional updates in Windows 10
How optional driver updates will appear in Windows 10, beginning with the August 2020 update
Windows Update will, of course, continue to automatically keep your drivers updated, but installing optional drivers may help if you are experiencing an issue.
We look forward to your feedback on this enhancement to the update experience, and to bringing you continued improvements that improve your experience with Windows 10 overall.

I have KB4566782 installed. Do you only see the View Optional Updates selection when there are Optional Updates to install?
Is the August 2020 Security Update this month's cumulative update that came August 11th? Because I don't see this option anywhere in my Windows Update.
Well, if I read the comments in here it's probably because I don't have any optional updates available....
I took the dive and installed 2004, and now I have a ton of optional updates.
So how I'm understanding this, Windows will hold off on installing these until later? When exactly? I'm so confused.. I don't have any issues afaik so I will let them sit there I guess.Windows Update will, of course, continue to automatically keep your drivers updated, but installing optional drivers may help if you are experiencing an issue.
To answer to my initial question above; It seems like some of these optional updates will automatically download and install without any warning. I saw 2 of them being moved from the 'optional updates' list to being fully installed a few days ago. I assume all of them will eventually be installed at a whim.
So the two in the Installed Optional Driver list were previously in the Available Optional Drivers List and were installed without you doing anything?
That is not right, optional should stay optional.
You could take the brute force approach and turn off Windows Drive Updates but that is probably not what you want. It's how I have my systems set though.
