I am on 19035 and I am on stuck in release preview? I keep going to windows insider and switching to fast, but it defaults to release preview again.

You are not alone. I have always been on fast or skippy with this computer but even though it downloaded the current build correctly, it now says it is on release preview. When I try to change it, it goes back to release preview. So what gives????

All of my computers (4) that have been on fast or skip ahead rings are now reverted to release preview. WHAT GIVES WITH THIS?"
I have no idea. There was nothing in the release notes about this. This worked for me.

Uneventful install which went pretty quick. 2nd or 3rd reboot it hung trying to load Windows Defender.
That pretty much brought it to it's knees and I had to resort to ctrl-alt-del to force it to finally restart.
After that everything came back up fine and its running as expected since.
I am also seeing the weirdness of being dumped from slow ring to Release Preview.
update: I set it back to slow ring and rebooted a few times and so far it has stayed there.

If you where changed to release preview run windows update again and it should change it back. They found out it was on there service side and have changed it back
I just joined the Insider Program a week ago and have had 4 updates to W10 since then! I'm going to opt out for now...
