    1) If you are already at build 18363 you must be already up to 18363.446 for the update in place from ISO to work and keep your files.

    2) You can upgrade from any 18362 build to 18363.446 with the ISO and keep the files.

    3) If you are alt 18363 but below .446, you can uninstall the 1909 Enablement package from the control panel and go back to build 18362, then you can upgrade to 18363.446 using the ISO and keeping all your files.
    Thanks fg2001gf10F.

    Just to clarify:
At # 2, I meant to say if you are at any 18362 below .446.

    Hi Wannagofast,

You stated " If the installed OS build in your info is correct, you have the Fast ring 19002.1 build installed right now.
If that is the case, to the best of my knowledge, there is no upgrade path with any iso to get back to the
Release Preview build of 18363.446 without doing a clean install and re-doing all you settings and apps." My current OS build information is current/correct, with that being said..it looks as if I'm stuck. Unless I consider this:

Win10XPE - Build Your Own Rescue Media

I've never tried this previously, but at least to me it sounds as if it MIGHT be a possible option, as you said PEACE !! We need a LOT of that in our world right now, I think before I do anything stupid..as I didn't very well last night I'm going to try and take a nap & deal with things when I awaken (hopefully)
    Thanks,
    David

I'm trying hard to resist the urge to use this to upgrade some old 1803 installations instead of waiting for the official 418 ISO.

That does look interesting and may certainly be worth looking into creating. If you are going to play around with
with these insider builds and such, then it is 100% advised to have a working backup plan in place in advance.

My best advice to anyone trying these builds is to download and familiarize yourself with

Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free.

This was the best piece of advice that was given to me when I first started trying these builds.
Now I can't imagine doing any of this without it.

I have only one pc with a main OS drive and a second drive for storage and games installed at the moment.
I also like to play around and try all the newest and latest builds that are released in all the Insider Rings.
Using a Macrium boot usb allows me to create multiple install images and switch between them in minutes.
And to go back to the way things were before I started if it all goes sideways.

Many folks use Macrium as just a rescue tool, when it is really an amazing part of my daily toolbox.

However you go about it, having a back up safety net in place is a must if you want to try this stuff out.

    peace
    wanna

    18363.10024

fg2001gf10F this will be interesting. I've ended up with what has been called a 'hybrid build' of 18363.10022 on all of my machines and i'm looking to get rid of it. As has already been said, I don't know when or even if this will get further updates. I've tries in place upgrades of several other builds and none have allowed the upgrade option.

I'm going to give this 18363.446 a go on one machine and see what happens...

EDIT: OK so it's finished ….I have to admit i'm more confused than ever before! Having downloaded the ISO for 18363.446 from UUP i've 'upgraded' this machine and now it's claiming to be on 18683.10024!
18362.10024 was for the Insider Slow Ring, 18363.446 is for insider Preview Ring.
Eventually both rings should get the same build 18363.446, but I have not seen an 18363.10024.

My guess is that you have added the 1909 Enablement package to your slow ring 18362.10024 build.
You may be able to see that with the control panel by viewing the installed updates.
I verified the same situation, you can see that the 1909 enablement package was added so the result is from 18362.10024 to 18363.10024.
I don't know if this is even an expected situation because it does not happen with W.U.
Using the 18363 ISO it gets the results you described.

I got that in THe RP, clicked on it my machine restarted and that was it. I suppose MS just wanted to test the link?

Unless you want to play with Windows insider builds and have a backup of your older systems, I think you should wait for the general release.

My x64 desktop and x32 laptop both installed this without issue.
