Thanks for reporting this. Windows Defender Application Guard and Windows Sandbox fail to launch on Build 18305 with KB4483214 installed. Workaround is to uninstall this update. If you've uninstalled the KB and are still finding that Windows Sandbox fails to launch, this is a separate issue we're investigating.
That's the official answer from Feedback Hub.

    Hi folks
On a Brand new installation (not an update) VMware runs fine provided you don't activate the sandbox.

Sandbox is particularly useless for IMO these reasons alone :

    1) you can't re-boot the sandbox without losing the whole kybosh so anything that needs a re-boot can't be tested in this environment --that would include software installation / changes / updates that require a re-boot, installing / testing fixes that require restart / reboot, renaming a computer in your domain/workgroup, registry changes, some system configuration changes etc -- so a bit bonkers.

    2) size and location of sandbox is fixed so no use at all if you need more space or want to save a sandbox session -- in any case a host re-boot will reset it anyway as it's on the Hosts "C" drive.

    3) cannot from WITHIN the sandbox access networked drives / shared drives even as READ ONLY. From OUTSIDE the sandbox you can see the sandbox's "C" drive so you can copy files via cut and paste with file explore but it's not really satisfactory.

There might be more issues but the sandbox as it stands is IMO rather completely pointless and useless.

The Sandbox is a nice idea but surely any design team must have come up with better ideas than that an 11 year old on a school I.T project probably would have better suggestions !!!! -- I'd have offered suggestions to Ms FOR FREE !! to get this thing working properly -- not sure who is in charge of this part of development but if I had anything to do with this I'd be getting "The Pink Slips" ready and showing a few people on to the street.

There's too many defects in these builds -- get the basic functionality correct one at a time then play around with all the "bells and whistles".

    Cheers

I also can not change or install new themes in 18309 or 18305. The Store says that Bing 2018 Exclusive was downloaded and installed but it does not appear in Settings, Themes. This seems to be a first time issue.

I got an email from Microsoft with "A gift for you". Tried that link, but so far, nothing.

Just got to say in my opinion (which may not count for much) these last few builds have been appalling bad. Since November I have had no sound (X-fi bug) and countless other issues which I have reported in the correct manner. Ive never had as many problems with a "beta" build in over 20 years. Not sure what's going on but its not good...
Sometimes, Jeff, I've had to bite the bullet and go for a clean install when a problem held over to a new Build. I had the sound problem too, but the next Build solved it. This is the first time I've seen that the new Build didn't solve the problem. So, maybe you should try a clean install?

Well finally sorted out my problems @Wynona

after running dism/sfc/font reset/uninstall reinstall browsers and a full reset
    still NO change

Sudden thought -- i'm running under a local account, as i allways do, i'll change to my MS account
BINGO all my problems dissappeared, then went back to a local account and that was good to
What a way to correct the problems - unbelieveable

Checked and I also have this problem. I tried Amazon Rain Forest and found the Theme was downloaded but never applied. Found it here:

    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.AmazonRainforest_1.0.0.0_neutral__8wekyb3d8bbwe

I opened the Theme folder there and double clicked on AmazonRainforest.deskthemepack and it installed. Looks like that's the step they broke.
Good morning, Ztruker. I found Windows Apps, but don't have read permission. What do I do now?

    Hi there
    @Wynona

Have you tried in file explorer options show hidden files.
I found however logging on to the store with an Ms account the application downloaded and I saw the theme in the change themes in the personalisation menu. Clicked on the theme and it was fine.

    Cheers

Oh, yeah, Jimbo. Show Hidden Files is permanently checked for me. I went in and changed it so many times that MS just gave up and left it like I want it. Even a clean install has Show Hidden Files checked! I need permission to get into the folder.
