KB4100375 Windows 10 Insider Release Preview Build 17133.73 - Apr.10 Insider

Well I got rid of one virtual NIC, but one keeps coming back, although not in use(for internet at least).
But it's fast!

The one being used is "only" 1Gbps


The one NOT being used is 10Gbps

Tracking down a regedit though is much harder and practically requires an eidetic memory (unless you are super organised and note down each change).
During upgrade, some of the regedit changes sometimes get reversed, or keys even removed. This sometimes can even lead to the "some settings......" message being removed.

I also have bluetooth back on this system, I had moved the dongle from the back of a desk mounted USB tower, and this had been switched off, It has an autocut off if you remove power whilst still connected to devices, (ie reboot a lot, when upgrading ) Switched it back and good to go :)

I have nothing configured in Group Policy but I do have driver updates disabled but I am not getting that msg anymore.

Yeah, I believe you. And it all makes sense. The NTFS MFT has it's limits and thus fragments must be moved every now and then so the FS won't crash. I wish NTFS was like BeFS (BeOS File System) which never fragments(at least that is what they claimed). :)

I think it is a deliberate decision taken by M$ to remove the "some settings" message as it is "AS IS".....ie:- general release in the next couple of days....the message only applies for Insider versions.

Only Updated to Insider Preview yesterday.....probably final testing before releasing RS4..... hence the lack of message.

I just did a manual check of fragmentation status on my C-drive (SSD) and here are the results:

Physical file fragmentation and NTFS file system fragmentation are different aspects of file fragmentation, so those results may be meaningless i.e. an ssd is tolerant to physical fragmentation, so long as the NTFS file system is managed.
