I went to perform that tweak, Edwin. Opened the Registry and got this.

    Attachment 172927

    I have a floating Cortana > WinKey/S.

Tried it, but the hack is unclear. I have two values of 0 and 1. The pic shows 0. I backed out.

    I have the same two values (0 & 1 ) under Flighting.

Right click on Flighting > New Key > Override
Left Click on Override and in the right pane > Right Click > New DWORD (32 bit) > ImmersiveSearch
Right Click on ImmersiveSearch > Modify > Change it to 1

That's what I've had to do the last two builds.
Same here for last two builds. There is a long series of folders and then it says it can't find the file! But yea, nothing like the old rd /s to fix it.

Just returned from deleting Windows.old, Windows.old(1) and Windows.old(2) folders from 2 VMs.

In both VMs I had to manually delete each and every subfolder before deleting its parent. RD /S /Q [some_dir] did NOT work at all. Complained every time that folder not empty.

Deleted a newly formed window.old using unlocker. The object was deleted. I will reboot and see if it reformed. I have not looked at the VMs.

Mmm, strange. Maybe mine didn't have any files, just a LONG string of folders. Will check more carefully if it happens the same again.

If you really want to delete these junk files and folders I would recommend unlocker. Make a backup image if you want. I'm picking up some weird stuff going on but I can't be more specific at this time. After making my image I going to high tail it back to Windows Server 2016 and then to Linux and await an announcement tomorrow.
