Being a boofhead I feel Hyper-V hates me.

Yeh, been there, done that. So much so I took the easy (coward's ) way out and installed/used Virtual Box.

How are we supposed to help if you do not actually tell is what your problem was.

If you follow the tutorial here, you should be ok.

You have to give far more information, screen shots etc.

Wasn't asking for help, and didn't need help - alternative solution VBox worked/works fine.

All that glitters is not necessarily Win 10, I'll leave that to the purists.
