I do not know what to suggest.
First thing I always do after a clean install on host, after creating initial full Macrium backup, is to install and setup WAC. Never failed.

This is an old machine that has not been clean installed in a long time. Not something I'm looking forward to doing, especially since it runs so well. Maybe with the fall FU.
I don't need WAC since i can do all I need with Hyper-V so I think for now I'll just uninstall it until after a cleaninstall.
Following the Unattended install tutorial at Win10Guru. When you get to the Audit mode stage, some programs want a restart to finish install, eg: Macrium and Hyper-V.
Q: Can you restart before doing the Sysprep.
You should never restart back to Audit Mode. Boot to Audit Mode, customize, and add software. In Audit Mode, when installing software, use command line / offline installers for software requiring restart with NORESTART / NOREBOOT option.
See this Macrium support article for how to do command line install of Macrium Reflect with NORESTART option: Installing Macrium Reflect from the command line - KnowledgeBase v7 - Macrium Reflect Knowledgebase - KnowledgeBase v7 - Macrium Reflect Knowledgebase
When done, sysprep, shut sown, and capture image.
Hyper-V and other optional features can then be added to captured image in offline, see this Microsoft support article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...res-using-dism
Software can also be added to custom image during deployment using MDT: Microsoft Deployment Toolkit - Easy and Fast Windows Deployment

Thank you for your very detailed reply. Looks like I have a lot more reading to do.
Now I have the hang of Answer files after months of trying and a lot of mistakes I will be working through all the Auto install and deployment related tutorials here.
