    Win10 logon

Hi Guys, thanks for taking me in.
I have a doozy of a problem. I can't login to desktop, the only thing I get on the screen is Other User. Nothing works for password or user name.
I tried to setup an autologon in registry and it does nothing.
    I'm stuck
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    WW

In this video, you will find detailed instructions on how to enable the hidden administrator account on Windows 11,10, 8, 7 or Vista based computer, by modifying the Windows Registry Offline in case you cannot login to Windows by using another account with admin rights.

Can you still log into the computer?

If so, after logging in, get this app:

Select/type whichever username, and insert the password for that account, then press the Enable button.
Restart the computer, and watch it auto-log-in to the account...

'Other User' is what you will see if you mistyped the account name when you set up automatic login, the name doesn't match any account on this PC. Click OK and you should see a list of available accounts at the lower left, click on one and sign in.

To correct this, either remove the autologon, or set it up with a correct account name.

Please clarify what happens when you type in your UserName & password.

You might be able to delete those diagrams from your last post but there used to be restrictions on new users editing posts so you might not be able to.

1 I agree that enabling the Built-in Admin would let you get past that login hurdle,
Enable or Disable Built-in Elevated Administrator Account {Option 5} - TenForumsTutorials

2 So that you can go back into the automatic login procedure [NetPlWiz] in order to clear the auto login,
Sign in User Account Automatically - TenForumsTutorials

    3 Then reboot, then

4 Set the NetPlWiz auto login up correctly instead, then

5 Reboot to prove the problem has been resolved, then

    6 Disable the Built-in Admin.

    All the best,
    Denis

    Things I can't do

NetPlwiz is not recognized, There is no autologin active. Upon login it states incorrect username and password.
Netuser shows admin, guest, Defender and one that I added. I tried to use it and it says the same.
Should I create an "other user" account with a new password?
If I reinstall will that user go away or will I be stuck?
    Thanks for your help

Please clarify what happens when you issue that command.

Just in case there's a problem with your Path variable here are both ways of opening the NetPlWiz dialog written out in full:
    C:\Windows\System32\Netplwiz.exe
    C:\Windows\System32\control.exe userpasswords2

"I tried to use it and it says the same." - I do not know what 'it' is and do not know what you have done.

Have you enabled the Built-in Admin & been able to log in using that account?

    All the best,
    Denis
