    Forgot Log In Password

I am prompted for my pin when booting windows. I do that. But I want to skip that login. But now it asks for my password, which I don't remember. Am I stuck with using my pin, or can I still skip that screen if I have my pin but not password?

And is there a way to get back a forgotten password?

    Thanks.

When you get this sorted, think ... Do I really need a PIN and/or password? Why? Just because Windows asks for it, you don't have to.

No choice...it asks for it. I don't want a password or pin.

You cannot recover a password from Windows. You can log in with your PIN then you can change your password to whatever you want.
Change passwords of Local and MSAccounts - TenForumsTutorials - Options 5, 6
And write your new password down somewhere secure yet accessible.

You can avoid having a password entirely for a local account but not for an MSAccount-linked user account.
But there is little point since you can bypass having to enter it using netplwiz, see
Sign in User Account Automatically - TenForumsTutorials
and, if necessary & as explained in the tutorial, its related procedure
Enable or Disable Passwordless Sign-in - TenForumsTutorials

But, whatever you decide, make sure you write the password down somewhere secure yet accessible.

In this video, i will show you a simple method of resetting a forgotten Windows 10 or Windows 11 local user account password, without the need for any third-party tools.

I'm not judging anybody, just a heads up to be careful what you talk about and post. This sort of topic has gotten me in heat with forum modes ( not here) in the past.

There are (legal/legitimate) ways around this. As I said, just because it prompts/asks the user to add/create/use a pin/password, doesn't mean ...

If a user has nothing really secure to protect, then this ersatz level of security is not warranted.
