    different users sign in/out confusion

ok so i have a few users on my PC (all local and 1 admin) , my kids use the PC too and i always tell them to sign out when they're done ,cause my PC is slower when multiple users are signed in .
so sometimes i sign in and then check to see if they're signed out ,sometimes they're not.
what confuses me i then go to their acc , but must sign in ,to sign them out .
then i go back to my acc and must sign in again, when i didn't sign out .
PS: by sign in i mean using a PIN
how does this changing of users work?

I don't find anything odd about that sequence, but you could use Task Manager to sign them out (so that you wouldn't need to sign in as them and then again as you):

    Sign out of Windows 10

The Users tab displays a list of signed in users and their running processes. If you’re the only person signed into your Windows PC, you’ll see only your user account here. If other people have signed in and then locked their sessions without signing out, you’ll also see those—locked sessions appear as “Disconnected.” This also shows you the CPU, memory, disk, network, and other system resources used by processes running under each Windows user account.

You can disconnect a user account by right-clicking it and selecting “Disconnect” or force it to sign off by right-clicking it and selecting “Sign Off.” The Disconnect option terminates the desktop connection, but the programs continue to run, and the user can sign back in—like locking a desktop session. The Sign Off option terminates all processes—like signing out of Windows.

Yes. I nearly mentioned that, but the link I posted didn't specify.

The link Brink added later to a TenForums Tutorial does include:

You must be signed in as an administrator to be able to sign out another user account.

thanks , yes i signed into admin now and saw the sign off option.
so ya , that's not really gonna help me ,as i rarely use the admin acc.
its just kind of a nuisance if anything , to sign into an acc in order to sign out .
on this PC it takes AGES.
    thanks for the replies though
PS : just gonna have to drill the kids
