Hi,
I have been trying to remove a user name from C:"Users".I have already deleted account using "account" settings and if I go to netplwiz or S-1-5 in registry the account is not listed.
I have tried right click -delete, to no avail, I have also tried renaming- same result.
I get a message saying it is open in another program(I don't know where) so I tried re-start. Still no result.
Any ideas

You might want to try Emco Unlock IT, which will allow you to unlock that account from whatever program is keeping it open.

I'm assuming here, that you aren't trying to delete one of these accounts...

Assuming this was an account that you had originally created and not one that Windows made of its own accord, you can also delete that folder by booting into an InstallUSB and using its command prompt.

You should have been offered the chance of deleting that folder when you deleted the user account it belonged to.
