How to get multiple users to show on login screen in Windows 10?

I have searched high and low on the web for a solution to get multiple users
to show on login screen in Windows 10. The best I could do is a workaround
based on the Option One at the start of the thread. I provide this in case it helps
someone else. It is not elegant, but suffices until a real solution comes along.
    My thanks to Shawn Brink.

    0. Create new user [Admin] with password
    1. type 'run' or {Win+R} to get the Run dialogue box
    2. type 'netplwiz' and click on OK
    3. Check [if not already checked] "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" checkbox
    4. select user you are not signed on as [see #0 above]
    5. Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer checkbox"
    6. Click OK
    7. Click OK [leave password boxes blank]
    8. Reboot.

Login will fail, but available signons will show. Repeat 1-8 on New User.

I have not tried this for nonAdmin accounts nor for more than two User Accounts.

Hello VermonX, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Normally, you should see all users at the bottom left corner on the Sign in screen to be able to select from to sign in as.

What do you see on your Sign in screen instead?

Which account is selected by default for you on the Sign in screen, or do you see "Other User" asking for both the user name and password?

Are you joined to a domain?

I see nothing in lower left without the actions above. Normally, my computer have only one user. However, I encountered this problem because I loaned a computer to my granddaughter for stay-at-home learning and she needs her own user sigin-on. We could not get her user to show. I tried a variety of solutions from a number of places on the web, to no avail.

Actually, I do not know what "joined to a domain" means. In any case, there are no servers involved and I use a private home network. However, the loaned computer is stand-alone (although it will be used with internet, the problem occurs with no internet connection).

Joining a domain is basically you have a work or school account that signs in to the domain network of the work or school with their policies enforced on your local computer.

It makes me wonder if it may be since this only happens when not connected to the Internet.

If it is, then you might test enabling the policy in the tutorial below to see if they show up afterwards.

No, I was not clear. I have the same problem on the computer I use, which is internet connected. Also, policies are local, computers are not joined to a domain.

    Ok.

Do the users show on the sign in screen when you lock (Win+L) the computer and dismiss the lock screen, or does this only happen at startup?

Only show at power on / restart. Win+L does not show other users for resume and other user is not listed when Start is clicked.

Interesting. Check using an available option in the tutorial below to see if fast user switching may have been disabled, and enable it if so.

It was Not Configured, I enabled. Makes no difference. I do not use Microsoft Account for user accounts (for my own reasons), but I have concluded that Microsoft does not care about this problem since, based on what other users reports, this problem does not exist if use Microsoft Account for logon. Maybe I'm wrong. Given my circumstance, as long as my workaround suffices for my grand-daughter, further investment in time on your part (and mine) is not worth it. I understand that a forum like this needs solutions that work for more that just me. I'm thankful for the assistance you continue to provide for me and others, but consider my current problem SOLVED. Thanks again.

Hopefully, it's just a bug that will sorted in the next update.
