Account Log On Picture Keeps Changing!

I have 3 accounts on my new laptop as follows:

    account 1 - admin, local
account 2 - user, Microsoft account
    account 3 - user, local

Account 2 randomly keeps picking up the account photos for account 1 at the login screen and vice versa.

I can see both images at %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures in each account. I deleted the photos from there and tried to set the accountpictures folder read only but the issue persists.

Any ideas how to fix it?

    Hello Steve,

I thought I've seen someone else that had this issue and sorted by deleting the account picture history you posted for all accounts on the PC.

Delete Account Picture History in Windows 10

You might also check the locations below per account to see if they may contain the rogue images.

Change Account Picture in Windows 10

The default user account picture images are in the hidden system folder below.

    %ProgramData%\Microsoft\User Account Pictures

Your current user account picture is stored in the hidden folder below.

C:\Users\Public\Public Account Pictures\S-1-5-21.......(GUID for user account)

    Good references.

I found my admin and one user accounts were set to use the same MS account with different login photos. I changed the admin account to be a local account so I only have one MS account for login on the PC and the login photos are now more stable.
