can i make this system to show me as administrator

Hi. Albertus Van Biljon from South Africa, but living in Thailand for the last 2.5 years. i have a problem with my PC after the power went of, came on, and drive c and was cleaned out. Got the system up and running BUT after updating win 10 to the last update, my filling is not as it was before. drive C: is a 2TB driver, where i load every thing to run from as i had it for the last 2 years. i cannot get fils to change, keep getting pop up ( you haven't got permission to excess the file, or like now, this driver is read only, there ain't a square even in the disk property's that show read only. yes Sir, i am the administrator on this system and it's reading me as the user that has read only permission. Here is the thing i need to know, as i am the only one ussing this pc, and the administrator, can i make this system to show me as administrator , user, system, and so on, as i see there are other,,,lets call them shadow users with some type of permissions. How can i get this drivers/system to recognise me, the administrator, and let me run it as i did befor. this win 10 is not usser frenly, i liked win 7 setup, but it's gone, now we need to get thing build up from scratch .ps. i sit with mod photos, photos and vedios, cannot even open them with this new win 10 updates/setups, win 10 photos cannot open png's ??. I would try and add this, or have it moved by a moderator, to a New Topic as it might not be seen in this thread.

Meanwhile take a look at the thread below and see if Take Ownership helps with getting into your files.

Add Take Ownership to Context Menu in Windows 10

In W10 a Standard User Account is not the same as "The Administrator Account" which is created by MS on first build, which is done to protect the machine from users making changes etc.

Here's a way to get into W10 as the administrator

Hold the Windows Key while pressing “R” to bring up the Windows Run dialog box.

Type: net user administrator /active:yes

Click OK

Now sign out of the account and log in as the Administrator Account which you are now presented with, or at startup.

You can disable this by using the same process and is best to do so once you have finished with what you want to do. It's also good practice to not surf the net as an Administrator account.

Click OK

hi, My apologies on posting in the wrong page, please move it to the correct page if you can. Thanks for responding so quick. i did take ownership on all the drivers and I'm the administrator, it even shows under my account name, but i will try the info you gave me . ill let you know if i got it working.PS, i did some reading on this, and found that win 10 had some of win 7 programs in it, now, with this last few updates or the new install i did, the new win 10, microsoft/windows removed all off the win 7 programmes, making all your old downloads useless , photos, movies, video, everything that used that programs of win 7 essentials 2012 to 2016 became useless. i don't know how it will affect all the network site, game sites, like steam, programmes you downloded/bought that use win essentials 2012. i look all over to see if i can get essentials 2012 to download, they are there, a few sites, but not working. its so bad i cannot even get into win store, it does not even open,did all the fixes on the sites, and youtube, nothing works with out win essentials 2012.

It's not you've posted in the wrong place, it's just that your questions might not get seen in this thread. Sorry I can't move it but maybe someone who can will see it and move it for you. If it remains in this thread so be it, we will go on from here.

My account shows me as an administrator but as I said that is not Administrator of the system. The real Administrator account is hidden by MS and you can get to it as I described in my first post #1174. Try it and you will see it is a different account than yours.

I found a page that said, GO TO SEARTCH BOX, TIPE IN ( MICROSOFT STORE ), i found 48 downloads to download and install,yes,,normally with a new windows install, win will automatically install and update apps,don't even know why it left me to do it, but yes, i got into microsoft store, and downloaded all 48 items and all is good and pc running well.
