HELP!!! My girlfriend is going nuts because of this problem....

So about 2 years ago I got this refurbished pc tower with Windows 10.. it asked me to set up a pin... I did. But it seems like it doesn't always ask for it... and to today I had the system crash. I rebooted , and left ... later my girlfriend came in to get on, and it asked her for a pin, which it has never done, so now she thinks I put it there to hide something, but that's honestly not the truth... anyways. It's world war 3, and I gotta find a way to prove her wrong, that I in fact had already had this pin in the system, and despite the fact that she had taken apart and rebooted before and it didn't ask for a pin, that there must be some written. Parameter that I can find to show her that I am right and she is wrong,.... I know I know... silly but trust me... this one , I gotta win!! Thanks for your help!!!

Hello Noel, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You can click on the Sign-in options link on the sign-in screen to select a different option (ex: PIN, password, etc...).

    Sign in to Windows 10

If you wanted to remove the PIN, then the tutorial below can show you how to do so.

there truly is no way to prove that at all , windows does not keep a log of when the pin was setup. or anything of the sort. it kind of sounds like you had the pin setup but then you clicked the box that says to basically ignore the pin there is one on the same screen, you setup the pin on. What i would do if i was you is simply remove the pin, and do it in front of her to show her that it will not bug her anymore, and that it is gone, and apologies for the fact that it came on in the first place and tell her it was already there and to why it never showed up before is a mystery in and in itself.
