It sounds like it was an issue with the HP SimplePass software.
Is your PIN working properly without it installed only using the UI in Windows 10 instead?

Yes, the PIN is now logging me into windows when I restart, but I still can't get the scanner to work. It flashes when I go to log in after sleep, but doesn't recognize my FPs. So I use my PIN instead. Small wonder, since I deleted my prints the first day we spoke. Haven't been able to get the FP recognition SW "add a FP" to work since then, per my attachments. Are you giving up on me?
Check at HP to see if they have a fingerprint reader driver for your PC instead of the SimplePass software.
Well surprise, surprise!!! I just went out to FP set-up for the umpteenth time to do a screen print showing you how the scanner wasn't working... AND IT WORKED!!!! I was able to scan in 4 fingers. It just started working for no apparent reason!! Well, I'll take it. Thanks Brink! Big thanks.
The only thing different this time was it asked me for a PIN when I clicked on set-up. 1st time its done that. Things must have finally fallen into place.
Yeah, you could enter a PIN, or select "other options" to use one of your other sign-in options.
It sounds like the HP SimplePass may have been causing an issue.
what do I do when Windows Creator tells me there is no fingerprint option?
FP works fine in Windows Anniversary and shows up in the device manager in Creator, but Hello says it is not available.
Hello ruggb, :)
Do you mean that you do not have the "Fingerprint" option in Settings under "Windows Hello"?
Does Device Manager show any issues with the fingerprint device?
yes, it says the option is not available (I think, cause I reverted to 1607 since it didn't work so I can't look at it) the DM says the device is fine.
