Turn On or Off Automatic Download and Install of App Updates by Microsoft Store app in Windows 10
The Microsoft Store app in Windows 10 offers various apps, games, music, movies & TV, and books that users can browse through, purchase, or get for free to download and install for their Microsoft account in Windows 10 PCs and devices.
This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off automatic download and install of app updates by the Microsoft Store app for your account or all users in Windows 10.
Make sure that you have the correct time zone, date, and time set to avoid the Store having syncing issues.
You will need to have the Storage Service service running and set to Manual (Trigger Start) for Store updates to work properly.

EXAMPLE: App Updates Available in Microsoft Store app
1 Open the Microsoft Store app.
2 Click/tap on the See more (3 dots) button, and click/tap on Settings. (see screenshot below)
3 Under App updates, turn on or off Update apps automatically to what you want. (see screenshots below)
4 When finished, you can close the Store app if you like.
You must be signed in as an administrator to be able to do this option.
Local Group Policy Editor is only available in the Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions.
All editions can use Option Three below that does the same thing.
1 Open the Local Group Policy Editor.
2 In the left pane of Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to the location below. (see screenshot below)
3 In the right pane of Store in Local Group Policy Editor, double click/tap on the Turn off Automatic Download and Install of updates policy to edit it. (see screenshot above)
4 Do step 5 (default), step 6 (always on), or step 7 (always off) below for what you would like to do.
A) Select (dot) Not Configured, click/tap on OK, and go to step 8 below. (see screenshot belowstep 7)
This step will override whatever users have set in Option One above.

8 You can now close the Local Group Policy Editor if you like.
You must be signed in as an administrator to be able to do this option.
This option does the same thing as Option Two above.
The .reg files below will add and change the registry key and DWORD value below.

2 = always off
4 = always on
1 Do step 2 (default), step 3 (always on), or step 4 (always off) below for what you would like to do.
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 5 below.

5 Save the .reg file to your desktop.
6 Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.
7 When prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.
8 If you like, you can now delete the downloaded .reg file.
9 If the Store app is open, then close and reopen it to apply.
