Interesting. How low were you able to get?
    I've always done:
    Code:
    bcdedit /timeout 3

It also supports 1 and 2 seconds. Just make sure to restart Windows Explorer using the task manager to apply the changes if you're not going to restart the computer.

    Longer than 5 minutes

    Hello @Eaglepi,

You could try setting a longer time using option 3 to see how it works for you.
Has anyone figured out how to have the notification duration past 5 minutes? If you put more than 300 seconds on option 3 will the notification still go away in 5 minutes?

    Hello, and welcome.

I'm afraid not. It'll only show up to 5 minutes no matter how much you set in the registry.

You can view them in the Action Center (Win+A) though.

You can view them in the action center for any duration? If so, if you don't mind, can you post instructions or a link on how to accomplish this? I have a customer that wants to send alerts to his 2 salesmen at their computers without the notifications going away unless they click them off etc. Any help would be gladly appreciated on this.

As long as the notifications don't get dismissed or cleared from the Action Center, they should remain there.

Open Action Center in Windows 10

No success trying to get the notification duration below 5 seconds on Windows 10 21H2, despite some of the comments above. Just as it says in the guide, setting MessageDuration below 5 has no effect - changed to 2 seconds for admin and 3 seconds for current standard user in the registry, rebooted, and notifications would still display for 5 seconds for both users.

The "bcdedit /timeout" suggestion was particularly puzzling as it's a boot menu timeout setting that presumably has nothing to do with notications in Windows, but I tried that as well anyway in case there was some weird connection. Nope.
