Tried to run the repair, according to the tutorial, but it gave me no option to "Keep personal files and apps", so I stopped it. I also noticed the tutorial was from 2015. I looked through the thread to find an up date quote, or comment, but it was all about 1511, or 1607. I have Eval copy: Build 19619.rs_prerelease.200425-1827. I'm gonna check the Insider forum to see if there is anything there. But if you got something else I could look at, I'd appreciate it. I trust you a lot more than I do anyone else with this.

August 14, 2015 was for when the tutorial was first posted, but it has been last updated on March 14, 2020.

Normally, you would not get a "Keep personal files and apps" option if you didn't use the exact same version and same or newer build as what you currently have installed.

Oh, well maybe I misunderstood something there. I wanted to repair the new Insider update. It was the update that gave me the issues in the first place. Thanks for the update.

So, how do I get the same build that I have, and repair from it?

I usually get an Insider ISO from UUP Dump.

I got a lot to learn about this stuff and UUP Dump just put me back light years! I went to the site, downloaded the package that I believe applies to my Build, and unzipped the file.

...then, I open the "Files" folder:

At this point, there came a "Duh!" moment. So, I unzipped the .rar file:

went to the README file that sent me to the website, and I was "I dunno" wilderness from there. Don't wanna take up too much of your time, but, HELP!

Clicked on the highligted "aria2_download_windows file, and it opened a CMD prompt and begin a series of downloads. Waiting for it to complete.

    Tried all - no success

I tried all 3 methods; the disk cleanup option and both batch file versions. None of them fixed the problem. I restarted after each one, as instructed. The thumbnails in file explorer are not correct; some duplicated, etc.

Hello dmholck, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Is this happening to all image files in File Explorer, or only to specific file types?

In addition, is this happening everywhere in File Explorer, or only in a specific location?
