Change projection mode - mirror pc to TV

I can mirror my WIN 10 PC screen to Samsung TV with no problem. But I accidentally clicked "2nd Monitor" - so my PC is blank while mirroring. And I can not reset the projection mode for the PC screen to be visible again because that setting requires I can see my PC screen to click the setting. I need to be able to change back the projection mode from 'second monitor' to "duplicate" mode but from a configuration menu, not the actual mirrored screen. Where can I find this? Many thanks. Peter

    Hello silversmith,

You might see if using an option in one of the tutorials below may help depending on what you are able to do.

    (add context menu to change)
Add Project Display context menu in Windows 10

    (use command to change)
Display Switch - Change Presentation Mode to Project in Windows 10

Is there a way to clean out the list of wireless displays in settings

I run around at school and connect to wireless displays in several classrooms. Suddenly connection fail and I follow the instructions on the Microsoft support page in the beginning of this thread. So far that worked but it’s a lot of mouse clicks and takes some time to clean out the list. Is there another way to do it, like deleting a Registry key or something?

Hello THarnvi, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Usually the list of wireless displays are only of available displays you can connect to like how it shows for available Wi-Fi connections. It just depends on what's available in your area.

If you like, you can use an option in the the tutorial below for a Connect Wireless Display shortcut to help cut down on the clicks.

The shortcut works great, thanks for that , but when the connection fails, I still have go into settings > devices and clean the list of previously used wireless displays. Exactly as it says in the Microsoft link on the first page:
    · Remove the wireless display or dock, and then reconnect it. To remove the device, open Settings , and then select Devices > Bluetooth & other devices . Select the wireless display, adapter, or dock, then select Remove device. After that, try reconnecting.
It works but two clicks and a few seconds wait for every wireless display to remove when you have 34 students waiting to start a lessen feels like an eternity. And it happens far too often.

I hear you. It can be a pain when it acts up more than it should.

Would using a direct connection to the display with project work in your situation? It's more reliable, but not as convenient.

Hello. I have a Panasonic_49FXX689. My PC recognizes it through my wireless router and the videos that I play on my PC can be seen on this Panasonic TV. The problem is trying to mirror my desktop on the TV. I plugged a USB WiFi adapter in my PC. Now my PC also finds the Viera txfx680w_e714. But......whenever I try to mirror (after going to my TV's Viera mirroring menu) the connection is never established and my TV keeps on saying that it's waiting for the connection of the input device. Any suggestions, please? Thanks in advance.

Lucky you, my Panasonic Viera is older and doesn't include a mirroring menu

If the TV is waiting for a connection then you have to initiate one from your PC. This tutorial should help.
